Tabard RFC has booked Sunday 1 November in Radlett, but tickets are not on sale yet. The free Meadow Park night has no 2026 date; one namesake is in Harrow.

Updated 3 October: Radlett’s Ticket Tailor shop now opens to us and lists no events, so 2026 tickets are not on sale yet. Meadow Park still has no date.

If you are looking for Borehamwood fireworks this year, the honest answer on 3 October is that the town’s own display has no 2026 date yet. Bonfire night falls on Thursday 5 November, and exactly one display anywhere in Hertsmere has published a date, and it is the one in Radlett.

Radlett: Tabard RFC, Sunday 1 November, confirmed

Tabard Rugby Football Club has put Tabard Firework Night in its own club calendar for Sunday 1 November 2026, listed 15:00 to 23:00, with the entry reading “Details to follow” (tabardrfc.rfu.club). That window is the club’s booking for the day, not the gate time.

The club is at Cobden Hill, Radlett WD7 7JN, which postcodes.io places in Aldenham parish. Nothing else about 2026 has been published: no gate time, no display time and no prices.

What last year’s event looked like, from the organiser’s own A3 leaflet:

  • Sunday 2 November 2025, gates 16:30, firework display 18:00.
  • Adult £8, child £6, family £26 or £30 depending on the family size.
  • Funfair, food vendors and a licensed bar.
  • Tickets sold in advance through Ticket Tailor, with a QR code on the poster.

Two cautions on that leaflet. Aldenham Parish Council carried it as a news post on 28 October 2025 and has since deleted the page, so both /radlett-fireworks/ and /events/radlett-fireworks/ now return 404 and a search of the whole parish council site for “fireworks” returns nothing. The prices above are therefore 2025 prices from a page that is no longer live, and they are printed here as history rather than as this year’s cost. The organiser’s Ticket Tailor shop, “Radlett Fireworks Night” (tickettailor.com), read “No events currently listed” when we checked on 3 October, so 2026 tickets have not gone on sale. Last year’s leaflet appeared in late October.

Borehamwood: the free Meadow Park display, still undated

Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council runs the town’s display itself and it is free to enter. It lists a Free Fireworks Display among its standard annual events in its own annual return summary.

The council’s Fireworks Night page still advertises last year: “Fireworks Night 2025, Wednesday 5th November 2025, Meadow Park, Borehamwood, Fireworks start at 7:30pm, Free Entry”. That page was last edited in January 2025, so treat it as an archive rather than a listing.

The dated first-party record is better than the website:

  • 2024: Tuesday 5 November, 7:30pm, at Meadow Park, Meadow Road, Borehamwood WD6 1TL (the council’s own What’s On in and around WD6, issue 2).
  • 2025: Wednesday 5 November. The Town Crier, issue 51, reports that “residents gathered in Meadow Park for the annual Fireworks Night on Wednesday 5 November”, that the display was set to iconic movie music and that it was free. The write-up is signed by Dan Salter, the council’s entertainments officer.

The pattern is 5 November itself, whatever weekday it lands on. That would put 2026 on Thursday 5 November, but the council has published nothing and we are not printing an unannounced date as fact.

The decision sits with the council’s Entertainments Committee, which met on Tuesday 8 September 2026 and meets again on Tuesday 3 November, both in the meeting room at Fairway Hall (meetings schedule uploaded 2 September 2026). Nothing about fireworks had appeared on the council’s website or in its uploads by 3 October. Reading the papers is not straightforward: the council’s Minutes and Agendas links point at a Microsoft SharePoint folder that demands a sign-in, so the agendas are not public in any usable sense. In practice the date appears when the poster does. We will update this page the day it does.

The display with Borehamwood in its name that is not in Borehamwood

borehamwoodfireworks.co.uk is advertising a Borehamwood, Elstree and Harrow Fireworks Display on Saturday 7 November 2026, and the venue is Byron Park, Peel Road, Harrow HA3 7QX. That is in the London Borough of Harrow, roughly eight miles from Borehamwood town centre, and it is a ticketed event rather than a free one.

The site says gates open at noon with free entry from 12pm to 3pm, a pre-show at about 7:30pm and the main display at about 7:45pm, and that booking online saves up to 40 per cent on the door price. The actual prices are published only as images inside the page, so we cannot quote them. It bills itself as a combined Guy Fawkes, Diwali and family festival.

Nothing about it is wrong. It is simply not the Borehamwood display, and the name catches people out every year.

Getting there and parking

Meadow Park is the open ground off Meadow Road. Note that the football stadium entrance is on Broughinge Road, a different address from the one the council gives for the fireworks; Meadow Park itself is a public park with Boreham Wood Football Club inside it, and Hertsmere agreed in principle on 16 September to a new 50-year lease for the club.

Hertsmere charges one tariff across all its car parks and Sunday parking is free, which matters for the Radlett display on 1 November but not for a Thursday night in Borehamwood. Rates, permits and the blue badge position are on our parking page.

Check the roads before you set off. Several Hertsmere closures are live this autumn, including work on the A411; the current picture is on our roadworks and travel page.

What is still missing

  • Tabard’s gate time, display time and 2026 prices. Expect a poster in October.
  • Any 2026 date at all for the Meadow Park display.
  • Whether Hertsmere or Hertfordshire County Council makes a temporary traffic order for either event. None had been published when we checked.
